Update time! I hope this newsletter finds you well and enjoying the start to your summer. Things are very busy with Mission Adventures in Las Vegas. We’re in the middle of our third week of students and as I write this our team from Idaho is on the strip doing a treasure hunt. God has definitely been working in the hearts of our students as we train them in evangelism and then walk it out with them on the strip. Sharing our faith with strangers can seem like such a strange concept but we’re able to teach our students that we’re commanded to (Matt. 28:19). How could you not share the God who has saved you from death and given you life with others?
For June and July we have seven short term staff who have given up their summers to serve God through Mission Adventures. It has been a HUGE blessing to have extra sets of hands to help out and minister to the students. During our staff training weeks at the beginning of June, God was at work in the hearts of people in Las Vegas. As we did outreach as staff, we saw 13 people give their lives to Christ and two healings!! Praise God! After this week, we’ll have a staff week off and then two more weeks of students before our summer ends.
Before our summer staff arrived Samuel, Brett and I were very busy. In May we drove to Scottsdale, AZ to visit a team that we had during spring break. It’s always nice to get out of Las Vegas and catch up with old students. I got to see some students that came through last year with MA. I also learned how to hunt scorpions with a black light!!
A week after that we drove to Camarillo, CA to visit another team. I forgot how much I had missed the beach! It was great to relax before the summer was about to start. In the fall we’ll hopefully be doing the same thing; travelling around to check up on past teams and make new connections with future teams.
I’M MOVING!!
After a year+ living on base, an opportunity came up for me to be able to move off the YWAM base. Joshua and Stacy, a couple I work with, just bought a house and are renting out two rooms. They asked my roommate Andrea and I if we would be interested in living with them and we said YES! We’re both very excited to have our own rooms and to live in a HOUSE. We’ll only be about 2 miles from the base which is nice. I have really enjoyed living on base but I’m ready to move off base. This is definitely a blessing from God but also an added challenge. Recently, financially it has been difficult for me. This month is the first month that I haven’t been able to pay my rent on time. As I’m in the middle of a busy season, I haven’t found the extra time to really focus in on support raising and because of this I am suffering. Please be in prayer for me in this area.
